Follow in the footseps of Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin and Queen. Play at the iconic Aalto-hall.

The main hall at the Helsinki House of Culture is Aalto Hall. This hall seats up to 1,452, and there are two spaces in addition for disabled people. The lower tier seats 568, while the upper one accommodates 884. The lower-tier seats can be removed to allow for events at which spectators stand. The parquet floor provides approximately 500 m2 of space.

Backstage facilities +

With the recent refurbishment, there are now new backstage facilities for performers on the bottom floor of the House of Culture. There are five rooms, of different sizes, and the spacious rooms also are suitable for larger groups. Some of the rooms have en-suite toilets and showers.
The loading area on the bottom floor is easy for vehicles to access, even larger tour vans. There is direct access to the backstage rooms from the loading area.
It is easy to reach the main hall from the backstage area by lift.
All rooms have a wireless Internet connection.
Additional backstage space for performers can be arranged in the ‘meeting corridor’ on the 1st floor of the building.

Licensing +

The event organiser must apply to Teosto and Gramex for the relevant licences and submit the necessary notifications.
The organiser does not have to notify the police of the event; this is handled by the House of Culture.

Marketing +

The event organiser is responsible for the marketing of the event. However, the House of Culture does advertise events through its own marketing channels.

Getting here +

The House of Culture is in the Alppila area of Helsinki and benefits from good transport links. Parking in the area is limited. The nearest larger parking facility is the car park at Linnanmäki, just a few minutes’ walk from the House of Culture (parking fees are charged).

Our partner hotel The Folks Hotel Konepaja (addr. Aleksis Kiven katu 23, 00510 Helsinki) is located about 450 m from the House of Culture. Other accommodation is available in the Helsinki city centre and Hakaniemi.
